Great flight from NZ to San Francisco, landed at 1:00pm. We both had a good sleep (left NZ at 7:30pm) thanks to some sleeping pills!
Nice warm weather in the mid-twenties. Had a 10 hour stopover before catching an American Airlines flight to Boston at 11:25pm.
Jumped in a taxi and headed into Fishermans Wharf (Pier 39) - great carnival atmosphere with variety of different shops and entertainment. Caught a Bay Cruise out to the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz 'The Rock'. Fascinating history - once the temporary home of gangster Al Capone. Wanted to book a tour of the prison, but tours fully booked 3 days in advance due to holiday season.
