New Hampshire - White Mountain National Forest

Today we travelled with our friends Karen & Neil and children to the state of New Hampshire to spend the day in White Mountain National Forest. We started in the Lincoln region with a visit to Clarke's Trading Post - a combination of circus acts. amusement rides and museums. The main attraction is a Bear show with Black Bears rescued from the wild. There are about 4500 Black Bears in the wilds of New Hampshire. Due to harsh winters their average life span is around 4-6 years. The Clarke Trading Post has trained bears that have lived for up to around 28 years.

We then completed the Kancamagus Highway - regarded as the most beautiful highway in New England. The 34 mile (55 km) road runs through the Forest and climbs up to 3000 ft through the Kancamgus Pass. There were literally 100's of Harleys out today. The weather was perfect - around 29 degress celcius and the views stunning.
